Part 2/9:
We start with the classic churro. Nico has never had one before - it's a pastry dough that has been piped, fried, and tossed in cinnamon sugar. While I love cinnamon, this churro is a little underwhelming. The dough is not as crispy and light as it should be, and it needs more salt and sweetness. I give it a 7.5/10, while Nico scores it a 6.5/10.
Next up is the pickle stand. I select a girthy and an average pickle. Nico likes the smaller one, but I explain that these are really just pickled cucumbers. They're salty, sugary, and sour - a classic American pickle. I give it an 8/10, while Nico scores it a 5/10, finding it too salty and sour.
