Several names have emerged as potential candidates for the Treasury Secretary role, each with their own unique perspectives and backgrounds:
Scott Bessent: Considered a favorite, Bessent has recently tried to walk back his previous comments about implementing tariffs in a gradual or measured manner, attempting to position himself as a more forceful supporter of Trump's trade policies.
Kevin Warsh: A former Federal Reserve governor, Warsh has written about a more measured trade stance and being a free trader. However, in 2018, he also wrote about the potential harm of economic isolationism and weakening the dollar, which could align with Trump's views.
