Zemlock explained that while there are many reasons people might choose to fake their deaths—such as seeking to evade legal troubles, including insurance fraud—there are also legal ramifications associated with such significant deceit. Although faking one’s death does not universally result in a specific crime charge, various factors come into play, notably if there are implications of defrauding authorities or using deception to escape scrutiny.
