Initially, Adam Smith's life seemed unchanged until the next day when he discovered an avalanche of voicemails warning threats against him and his family. Soon, he was called into his office and asked to resign from his well-paying job. Rejection followed swiftly, and with it came the loss of his income, his house, and a way of life that had been within his grasp.
Despite his attempts to apologize to the Chick-fil-A employee he confronted, the damage was done. Adam’s career prospects dwindled as he faced a constant string of rejections when trying to find new employment. Companies were hesitant to hire him, fearing backlash from the fallout of his protest.
