Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking. Brush the crust with an egg wash for a golden-brown finish and sprinkle with coarse salt and pepper.
Baking the Pie
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the pie for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. If the edges brown too quickly, use a foil shield to protect them. Once baked, allow the pie to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
