Born in London to a Nigerian father and Australian mother, Cambage moved to Australia at an early age, where she would encounter both fascination and alienation due to her height. Standing at 6 feet tall by age ten, she faced relentless bullying from her peers, which could have easily derailed her passion for sports. Instead, Cambage channeled her frustrations into basketball, finding solace and success on the court. By age 16, she was already competing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) of Australia, proving herself against adult players while managing the challenges of high school life.
