Part 4/7:

Scoring in Different Matches

Understanding how scoring is presented can be confusing at first. In a test match score to reflect runs and wickets will typically look like “India 118 for 5,” meaning India has scored 118 runs, with five players out. In limited overs, it might display “England 103 for 4” alongside how many overs have been played.

Getting Out

Batters can be "put out" in several ways:

  1. Caught Out: Similar to baseball, if a batter hits the ball in the air and a fielder catches it, they're out.

  2. Bowled Out: If the bowler delivers a ball that hits the stumps and dislodges the bales, the batter is out.

  3. Run Out: A player attempting to score runs is out if the fielding team hits the wicket before they reach it.
