In the spring, the duo began their regrowing experiment with a variety of vegetable scraps, utilizing a glass Pyrex dish filled with water to soak their finds. The selection included cabbage bases, carrot tops, onion bases, ginger, lettuce, beet tops, turmeric, and even garlic cloves. The intention was to see how these store-bought scraps could flourish when planted in a raised bed—an exciting alternative to the conventional seed-planting method.
