As September rolled around, the anticipation for harvest day began to mount. James unearthed the first onion where the base had transformed into a small bulb, effectively allowing for another potential harvest in the future. Inquisitiveness turned to delight as he discovered that the whole onion had actually split into four distinct onions.
Meanwhile, the carrots, which had floured as they neared maturity, produced smaller side roots rather than the expected long taproots. Yet, the greens provided flavorful additions to meals. The potatoes stood tall, with a bountiful harvest yielding significantly more than anticipated from just a single store-bought potato.
