Carefully dig out the garlic plants, being conscious of preserving the roots. After that, the largest clove from the crop is selected for replanting. Once dug up, a spot is prepared by digging deep enough to accommodate the garlic in its original position.
Adding Nutrients
To foster strong growth, it’s essential to provide nutrition to the soil, especially after previous garlic harvests deplete soil nutrients. A sprinkle of fertilizer, followed by a layer of mushroom compost, can effectively enrich the soil. After transplanting, watering the area helps set the roots before layering on protective leaf mulch.
