One of the first statements put to the test was regarding Shaquille's decision to purchase a house based solely on its proximity to pop icon Paula Abdul. To everyone’s amusement, he confirmed that it was indeed true. Shaquille recounted how, while looking for a place in Los Angeles, he was convinced to buy the house simply because it was across the street from Paula. He playfully admitted to trying to engineer accidental encounters with her whenever she was outside, claiming, “Oh hey Paula, how are you?”
