Lyle Alzado’s career was characterized not only by his physical prowess but also by his volatile temperament and notorious reputation for violence. Incidents like throwing a chair at a reporter and his explosive helmet toss at Chris Ward of the New York Jets highlighted his aggressive persona. Despite his fierce nature on the field, off of it, he was described as gentle—a stark contrast that intrigued many. Tragically, it was Alzado's heavy steroid use that eventually led to severe consequences, including a brain tumor that he believed stemmed from his abuse of these substances.
