In the aftermath of the incident, the reactions varied widely. Some fans found the behavior humorous, while others were distinctly appalled. There appeared to be a double standard emerging, especially when comparing how fans react to similar incidents involving fans of different teams.
For instance, had two Dodger fans perpetrated such an act against Aaron Judge, the public outcry would have been immense. Where is the accountability for fans who cross boundaries that should remain sacred in sports? As a Red Sox fan, even I find the notion of my fellow supporters engaging in such ridiculous antics unthinkable.
