Flaherty’s journey to this point has been nothing short of remarkable. Having pitched excellently last season and even starting Game 1 of the World Series for the team that emerged victorious, one might assume opportunities would come knocking. However, Flaherty expressed frustrations about the lack of communication from teams concerning his future.
“I was really hoping to get off the board quickly,” he said, noting that it feels strange to be waiting without any substantial offers or conversations happening. Despite having healthy performances in the prior season, he’s currently in a state of limbo regarding where he will pitch next.
