Shams described the situation as an "ugly, bitter divorce" between Butler and the Miami Heat, a team he has been successful with over the last five years, including three appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals and two runs to the NBA Finals. The Heat's management has made it clear they are getting firm with Butler, particularly after he opted to travel separately to Milwaukee on a charter flight instead of joining the team on their pre-scheduled flight.
