Born in Akron, Ohio – the same hospital as LeBron James – Curry was exposed to basketball at a young age thanks to his father, Dell Curry, an NBA sharpshooter. He grew up emulating his father’s shooting style, which fostered his innate talent for shooting. Despite his skills, Curry faced significant hurdles in his early career. His size led major colleges to overlook him, resulting in a lack of Division I scholarship offers. He eventually attended Davidson College, where he averaged 28 points per game and made a name for himself as a standout player in college basketball.
