Shifts in Polling Numbers
Current opinion polls indicate a dizzying shift in party fortunes. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) is reportedly sinking, with numbers falling as low as 15%. If this trend continues, we might witness a disastrous collapse for the SPD. Conversely, the CDU/CSU, once the heavyweight of German politics with initial support at around 32%, is also losing ground, with recent polling suggesting a decline to 29% or even 28%.
In contrast, the AFD is experiencing a surge, with some polls placing them at 23%. Although the nature of polling can be unreliable, especially given potential biases, these numbers highlight a significant shift in voter sentiment.
