The divergence between terms of service and licensing agreements poses an ethical dilemma. A particularly convoluted aspect of the conversation revolves around the ease with which companies may circumvent perceived ownership over AI outputs. If data generated from OpenAI’s API is uploaded and re-utilized elsewhere, it creates a disconnected chain of responsibility that complicates enforcement of intellectual property rights.
