Cuomo points out that reports estimate waste, fraud, and abuse (WFA) in government spending ranges from $100 billion to $500 billion annually, with some suggesting that 5% of all federal funding is misallocated. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently confirmed that improper payments totaled around $247 billion in 2022 due to errors and duplications.
