Patrick Dempsey, at the time an unknown actor, embodied the role of Ronald perfectly, turning his paycheck into a 1963 Porsche and further solidifying his status as a rising star. The film featured Laura Peterson as Cindy, along with a young Seth Green as Ronald's obnoxious brother, showcasing a blend of fresh talent that would go on to have long careers.
Notably, the extras in the film played a pivotal role in its journey to Disney, as one secured a job at the company shortly after filming, leading to an acquisition of the project.
