Pleasure isn’t inherently bad. Our instinct to seek enjoyment is natural; however, Huxely's warning lies in the dangers of making pleasure the central focus of our lives. He differentiates between happiness—a transient state often rooted in external circumstances—and fulfillment, which typically requires deeper engagement, effort, and confrontation with discomfort.
