Jesus's enhanced moral expectations apply not only to heterosexual relationships but also establish a broader principle regarding responsible sexual conduct.

To this end, the argument posits that if Jesus condemned remarriage after divorce—a generally accepted practice today—because it could sever the marital bond designed by God, he would certainly not endorse same-sex relationships that exist outside of that union.
