Following inspiration from a gospel performance he witnessed, he effortlessly composed the song’s lyrics in just 15 minutes, despite lacking a strong religious background. The song captures themes of death and faith while seamlessly integrating an infectious sound, thanks to creative choices like the Fender Telecaster and innovative use of a fuzz pedal.
