In his view, metaphysical questions transcend the confines of space and time, which ultimately leads to inexpressibility. While Wittgenstein dismissed many metaphysical inquiries, he did not ridicule the discipline itself. Influenced by Arthur Schopenhauer, Wittgenstein acknowledged the significance of past metaphysical writings, referring to them as some of the "noblest productions of the human mind."
