The Emergence of Niels Bohr
In the same year that Rutherford resolved the complications of atomic structure, Niels Bohr was preparing to make his mark on physics. Bohr, initially distracted by sports, ultimately chose a career in theoretical physics, earning his doctorate in Denmark. His journey soon led him to England, where he encountered J.J. Thomson at the Cavendish Laboratory and later Rutherford in Manchester.
