To illustrate the concept of synchronicity, Jung himself provided various examples. One such scenario involved a patient recounting a dream of encountering a spectral fox while walking with Jung. At that moment, a real fox appeared nearby, embodying a striking synchronicity between the patient's internal experience and the external event. Take note that if the fox had appeared later, the connection would lose its significance as a synchronicity.
Conversely, a mere coincidence—such as the simultaneous appearance of plum pudding in a restaurant unrelated to a thought of it—might stir intrigue but lacks the deeper internal or external resonance required for synchronicity as defined by Jung.
