In 1996, Davies reformulated Supertramp for a concert tour, resulting in the album Some Things Never Change in 1997. This marked a new beginning for the band but, like the past, it was marred by changes and developments that signaled the end of an era.
Meanwhile, Hodgson experienced a resurgence in his career with tours and solo albums, contrasting with Davies's continued work with his band. By 2010, Supertramp regrouped for a tour celebrating their 40th anniversary. Despite speculation about Hodgson rejoining, both he and Davies publicly acknowledged their inability to collaborate further.
