The casting process for Han Solo was intense, with a myriad of young actors vying for the iconic role. A staggering 3,000 actors auditioned, including names like Taron Egerton and Dave Franco, but in the end, Alden Ehrenreich secured the role. His casting was somewhat controversial, especially after a long list of candidates, but Disney hoped that this new interpretation could succeed.
Alongside Ehrenreich, Donald Glover was cast as Lando Calrissian, while other notable cast members included Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson. Filming began in early 2017, but this marked the onset of significant issues.
