With ELORG at the helm, Stein's grip on the rights began to slip as they sought to maximize their profits with multiple deals across different regions and platforms. The battle became increasingly convoluted when Stein attempted to secure arcade rights, only to be outmaneuvered by Atari Games and eventually Nintendo, each vying for their share of Tetris's potential.
