The notion that black media voices lack influence is further complicated by the history of the Black News Channel, which launched with great aspirations but folded due to underwhelming viewership. Where were the supporters for such initiatives when they had the chance? As an audience, engagement is a two-way street. It brings into question what responsibility those in media hold in supporting initiatives that align with their values.
