Pent from Pamela Des Barres and grounded in experiences of groupies from the 1970s, Penny symbolizes the intersection of music, friendship, and youthful vulnerability. People frequently misconstrue groupies as being strictly subservient or passive partners in fleeting romances; however, this misses the larger narratives that many of these women were actively shaping their experiences and identities.
