Mori's campaign yielded short-term successes, leading to the dismantling of Mafia control; however, it failed to address the underlying issues that fostered Mafia growth in the first place. Instead of eradicating the Mafia, Mori's crackdown forced many to flee, with several retreating to America, thereby creating a new hub of organized crime.
By the close of the 1920s and Mori’s eventual departure, the supposed eradication of mafia threats was simply a political maneuver, leaving the original societal injustices unchallenged. After the fall of Mussolini and the Fascist regime, the Mafia re-emerged without the constraints previously imposed, becoming stronger and more organized than before.
