As we evaluate the proposed advancements in air defense, it’s critical to acknowledge the gaps in the current systems. While the United States operates some of the world’s most advanced air defense systems, they are limited in geographic scope and can’t cover the entire territory of the country. The Department of the Air Force indicates that conflicts, even if localized, may soon extend to American soil. The growing capabilities of adversaries like China and Russia highlight this requirement.
