In 1902, Rockefeller further extended his influence by funding the General Education Board, which enforced that medical schools shed holistic approaches—labeling them as "quackery"—in favor of allopathic treatments, often linked to lucrative pharmaceutical products.
His views were steeped in social Darwinism and controversial racial ideologies, ultimately leading to systemic changes in medical education and practice, culminating in the Flexner Report of 1910. This report, commissioned by Rockefeller's contemporaries, called for the centralization of healthcare and paved the way for the dominance of large pharmaceutical companies.
