Returning to the initial question—“If you’re not your thoughts, who’s thinking them?”—the resolution transcends verbal reasoning. It's a direct experience rooted in mindfulness. The Buddha’s silence regarding metaphysical inquiries underlines the futility of seeking a new self. Ultimately, true freedom emerges from seeing through the layers of thought and realizing awareness itself is the key to liberation.
