Part 2/9:
The earliest references to Sun Tzu appear in Sima Qian's work "Shiji" or "Records of the Grand Historian," written in the late 2nd to early 1st century BC. This account includes a brief biography of Sun Tzu but focuses more on his descendant, Sun Bin, a military strategist from the 4th century BC. The Shiji presents Sun Tzu as an author of The Art of War, but it contains only scant details about his life, prompting debates about whether he was indeed a historical person or a later literary invention.
