Mental Health and the Alarming Suicide Rates
Perhaps one of the most pressing issues surrounding the disposability of men is the strikingly high rates of suicide among men in America. Just as with occupational deaths and homelessness, men are disproportionately affected, with 22 out of 100,000 men committing suicide each year. This figure is five times higher than that of women, amounting to over 50,000 male suicides annually. Despite the severity of this issue, there is a distinct lack of awareness, research, and dedicated programs aimed at addressing it.
