At the forefront is Ronald Curry, who stood out not just in football but also made his mark as a basketball player. Curry, who earned MVP honors at the 1998 Las Vegas Bowl and the 2001 Peach Bowl, went through an up-and-down college period at the University of North Carolina. Despite a promising career, which included being drafted by the Raiders as a seventh-round pick in 2002, injuries plagued him throughout. Although he transitioned to a wide receiver, his best NFL season saw him catch 50 passes for 679 yards. Nowadays, Curry has redirected his talents toward coaching, currently serving as the quarterbacks coach for the Buffalo Bills.
