Young Puerto Ricans are increasingly seeking opportunities on the mainland, further thinning the tax base needed for recovery and growth.
What is needed, more than ever, is a comprehensive response that prioritizes the rights and needs of Puerto Rican residents. Scrapping exploitative laws like the Jones Act, promoting genuine local economic policies, and investing in sustainable infrastructure can help steer Puerto Rico back towards a viable future.
