The Legacy and Decline
Despite Barber's success and philanthropy, he faced challenges in later life. When he passed away in 1920, he envisioned converting his farmland into an agricultural college, but his plans were left unfinished. The estate changed hands multiple times and fell into disrepair over the decades.
