As his rookie season wore on, things deteriorated further for Wilson. He faced additional disciplinary measures for violating team rules and was placed on the non-football illness list, which effectively ended his season with only four snaps to his name. Speculation about personal problems circulated, which became more apparent when Wilson publicly announced his desire to step away from the team altogether.
The situation escalated when reports emerged of Wilson leading police on a high-speed chase, culminating in his arrest yet again. At this point, it was apparent that the Titans had lost all faith in their first-round pick.
