The acquisition of Midsouth was seen as a pivotal error in judgement. After swallowing the enormous liabilities associated with that territory, the company could no longer justify its expenses. The exorbitant costs, including a new airplane designed for 16 wrestlers, strained resources further and contributed significantly to the company’s downfall.
Reflecting on that period, executives acknowledged that certain acquisitions, like Midsouth, did more damage than good, ultimately drowning out the talent and marketing that had previously led the company to success.
