Their second album, "Open Up and Say... Ahh!" released in 1988, solidified their status as rock royalty. However, alongside this success came personal demons. During their tour for the third album, "Flesh and Blood," the pressures of fame led to substance abuse issues among the band members, particularly DeVille and Dall.
Conflict was inevitable, climaxing in a notorious incident at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards where DeVille and Michaels faced a public altercation during a disastrous performance. Following this, DeVille was fired from the band, leaving Poison at a pivotal moment.
