The Tower of Babel stands as one of history's great enigmas. According to biblical account, humanity once spoke a single language and collaborated to erect a monumental tower aimed at reaching the heavens. However, this ambition was thwarted by a sudden and catastrophic event: divine intervention scattered humanity, dividing their language and, in effect, their unity. Scholars have long debated whether this story is merely a metaphor for human hubris or whether it reflects a real event’s history. Interestingly, ancient texts from a variety of cultures echo a similar narrative, hinting at a lost universal language, a fragmentation of civilizations, and warnings about the dangers associated with misused knowledge.
