In the midst of ongoing conflict, negotiations between Israel and Hamas regarding the next phase of a ceasefire remain gridlocked. Hamas has stated that it will only release American-Israeli hostage Eidan Alexander, along with the bodies of four other captives, if Israel agrees to a U.S.-backed proposal. The group emphasized that discussions about the ceasefire's second phase would only commence the day the hostages are released and would be limited to a duration of 50 days. Furthermore, Israel would be required to restore humanitarian aid flow into Gaza.
