Part 2/5:
In Oklahoma, Governor Kevin Stitt declared a state of emergency for at least a dozen counties after wildfires devastated the area on Friday. More than 150,000 acres of land have been scorched, destroying hundreds of homes and structures in the process. Conditions were particularly ripe for such disasters, with humidity levels plummeting to record lows below 10%, combined with strong winds that dried out vegetation, creating a tinderbox scenario.
Smoke filled the skies in Manford, west of Tulsa, as the flames raged on, fueled by the extremely windy conditions. Eyewitness accounts have described how the strong gusts contributed to the wildfire's rapid spread, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
