In his pursuit of conquering the abyss, Crowley engaged in a daring ceremonial encounter designed to summon and confront Coronzon directly. In December of 1909, he and his scribe, Victor Newberg, traversed the Algerian desert to conduct a ritual steeped in complex symbolic acts. With Crowley positioned as the Seer and Newberg within the protective bounds of a magical circle, their intentions were to summon Coronzon and contend with its chaotic influence.
The ritual was meticulously crafted. Crowley prepared a triangle inscribed with Coronzon's name while Newberg, armed with a dagger, bolstered the circle's integrity with the sacred names of God. Following an animal sacrifice, the atmosphere was charged with heightened tension as the entity was summoned into existence.
