Another child star with a troubled trajectory is Dana Plato, known for her role in Diff’rent Strokes. Plato struggled with addiction from a young age, which worsened after the show ended. Her life was plagued by legal troubles, including a robbery charge, leading to her incarceration and multiple attempts at rehabilitation. In 1999, she was found homeless in Oklahoma, attempted to present herself as clean, and eventually succumbed to a drug overdose that was ruled a suicide.
