The ethnic makeup is uniformly Korean, with language having diverged slightly from South Korean dialects over the last seven decades.
In stark contrast to the broader world, North Koreans perceive the Korean Peninsula as a singular, united entity. Maps displayed in schools illustrate a unified Korea, with Pyongyang as its capital—an assertion that underscores the prevailing national ideology.
