Part 2/6:
A group of ten researchers stationed at the South African Antarctic base, known as the SAII, reportedly made a desperate appeal for help following an incident where one team member threatened to kill another. The team, deeply cut off from the outside world, now faces a psychological crisis as they prepare for months of solitude as they brace for the harsh Antarctic winter.
The situation is made all the more dire by the fact that the closest point of assistance is thousands of miles away in South Africa, and the upcoming winter months will limit the possibility of any personnel changes or outside contact.
